I like to use humor to invite people into the work. Juxtaposing familiar objects in non-traditional roles confronts, in a comical way, our sense of what is appropriate. The components of the piece: the ceiling fan, the baked chickens, and the heat lamp humorously bring attention to the absurdities found in familial relationships and the domestic environment.
